That must be different, I've played all the games so all the tunes here are familiar to me and bring some sort of nostalgic value. I imagine they'd still be pretty impressive without the nostalgia goggles though?

yeah it's all still awesome but nothing hits like Fairy's Fountain! and to a lesser extent Gerudo Valley

he did so much other shit for Nintendo too =O Zelda stuff is my favourite but he's done Mario among other things. so many melodies that are just burned onto my brain

Agreed his Mario stuff is great too. I really like the 'Dire, Dire Docks' theme from the SM64 soundtrack, so atmospheric. Nothing beats his Zelda stuff though.

if you played Donkey Kong Country when you were a kid, those songs are pretty great too. different composer though http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjnUmO51CD0 i dunno how much of it is just nostalgia or if it just flat out rules. there's a slowed down version of something that sounds pretty amazing too
