I love Dio, but I haven't felt the need to listen to his other albums outside of Holy Diver, Last in Line, or Dream Evil.

I'd listen to this and a couple songs off of Lock Up the Wolves and Killing the Dragon. Pretty much covers all his good work

This is good too, Killing is fine and Lock Up The Wolves is worth just for the title track and the opening track.(Both are top 5 Dio songs).

Agreed, best songs on the album.

Killing The Dragon is Dio best work pos-Dream Evil in my opinion. Doug Aldrich's performance is top level.

Not a bad album, though nowhere near his first two albums.

If it wasn't for "Dream Evil" then this album would probably have been my third favourite Dio album. Because of that however, it slips into fourth place. There's still great musicianship and solid instrumentation here though, and the vocal delivery keeps it interesting.

Yeah I prefer their 80s work compared to what came after that. Killing The Dragon is a close 5th for me too though.

Highest replayability after Holy Diver for me here. Title track and Like the Beat of a Heart are monster tracks, most of the rest slays too. Only track I'm not that fond of is Hungry for Heaven. Favorites are the two mentioned before plus Another Lie and Just Another Day.

Honestly right now this is my second favorite Dio. Dream Evil has the highlights but I feel this is a very solid listen. I dig The Last in Line too but as a whole I find it the most tiresome of the first four and I (almost) always rate based on the full listen.

Title track is up there with his best songs. Especially the part that's mentioned above gets me every time.

I'm on a Dio (band) binge in these days, gonna jam everything to rate them all. Probably gonna bump some threads in the meanwhile.
