yeah man i hear you. i don't know how old you are but i'm 25 and some of the kiddies that populate a lot of metal shows and what not can be quite annoying. if its too much i'll just say fuck it and hang back. its annoying when i go see a band like opeth for instance and kids start trying to mosh and shit. every now and then though a show will be the right mood/environment and i'll be able to get up front in a spot where everyone is just being chill and enjoying themselves. ive seen agalloch twice and it was such a great environment

"Some people are just plain rude and disrespectful"

I get that but when I'm down there in the trenches going ape shit to bands like Meshuggah or Opeth it's absolutly ridiculous to get mad at me for enjoying myself no matter how much of an ass hat I'm being. Don't bring your cunty girlfriend to a metal show if you don't plan on getting pushed around!

/end not entirely serious rant

i think theres a difference between "going ape shit" ie shamelessly enjoying the fuck out of yourself and "just plain rude and disrespectful"

and yeah its never a good idea to "bring your cunty girlfriend to a metal show" i agree

I'm 28 and yeah I agree. I saw Opeth one time and it was redicously how stupid the crows was acting. I know they weren't the headliner but people who don't even know about the band were treating them like some scene band. That was back in 2002 so I can only imagine how bad its got since then. I'd love to see Agalloch live, the recorded shows I've seen on youtube look so chill and I crave that.

I'm not trying to be a dick when I'm jumping up and down and headbanging and shit but I just can't help it when my favorite band plays some of their sickest jams. Also if I were on stage performing that's how I'd wanna see the crowd reacting. Not with arms crossed and stoic stares. Fuck that.

Have you ever performed live before? I only ask if you're saying that from experience or from assumption. The first show I ever played live was in a setting where everyone was sitting down, about 100 people or more, lights dimmed, and it was one my most enjoyable moments in my life. People would still bob their heads and respond to various moments and so forth so it wasn't awkward or weird at all.

Depends a lot on what kind of music is played, grind shows with people sitting down ain't that much of a good sign

I've played live probably over 100 times in my life and yeah my best experiences are when people are dancing and moving around. I played in a pop/punk and 70s rock cover band though. I can see how with more intimate shows the opposite would apply though.

Superbwork! so versatile. Each track has its own identity and sounds so different! Impressive work! Heavy music is alive because of these guys! The intro riff of the Black TOngue, and its lyrics are the best of the album.!
