last time i saw them they played every song off this besides creature lives (which i saw them perform in atlanta when they had a shitload of folks come on stage and they dropped green balloons from the ceiling, which was awesome). it was awesome. 5th time seeing them and it was easily their best performance. they even came back and played 2 more encores after they were done, which i've never seen them do. brent called everyone back on stage and you could tell they were done bc brann had already thrown his sticks and taken out his monitor. also the most i've ever seen them interact with the crowd

Fuck i hate blasteroid. It's disgraceful. Some songs are decent here, but as an album it's quite easily Mastodons "fuck trying too hard, we'll just pump out an album" album.

they don't suck as much live singing-wise now, and instrumentally they've always been tight

it doesn't even matter. their stage presence has been so boring the couple times i've seen them i couldn't even take it.

I wouldn't mind seeing these guys live in an enclosed stadium while sitting down and just chilling or relaxing. Other than that, I wouldn't wanna stand during a show with this style of music.

i've done both. if i'm not gonna be up close and personal to the stage then yeah i'd prefer to be sitting in an enclosed stadium. if i'm right up by the stage though i'd much prefer that

Cool, yeah I'm just an older dude and I've done the whole stage-side thing and I just don't dig certain crowd atmospheres anymore. It's distracting sometimes and some people are just plain stupid and disrespectful.
