shredding amazingsauce. Love the solo on Death and the Healing... such a cool sound. One of my favorite and most memorable albums of all time. Fast without losing it's heavyness, a lot of shredding, very atmospheric, and Jari Maenpaa, what more can you say

this band kicks so much ass, hope they bring out another album

I have ensiferum (self-titled and iron) and enjoy them. I have to get my hands on this album.

Wintersun is better than Ensiferum IMO.

Agreed, but Ensiferum is pretty good as well.

Awesome album. I think that there is a lot of originality here as well. I wouldn't say that it is generic power metal riffing. For example, listen to the opening riff for Beyond the Dark Sun. It's a very creative riff. Starchild is utterly amazing as well.
Ensiferum = Wintersun to me. They are both two of my favorite bands. Ensiferum is slower, but they have very catchy riffs and folk parts. This Message Edited On 12.23.06

Great review, One of the few power metal releases I actually like the clean vocals on. Also, has anyone else noticed he has a friggin' Telecaster in that pic??

hmmm...im not a huge black metal fan but it doesn't to seem to be one of those crazy satan wishoping black metal bands so I think I might pick this up, from what I have heard they have some pretty good music...

This isn't really black metal.

It's David Cross.
And this isn't Black Metal. It's clearly filed under Power Metal, even though Metal Archives has it as "Epic Melodic Death Metal".
I used to think this was SUPER average, but I'm listening to it now and it's just average. Maybe after another listen or two it'll go up another notch. This Message Edited On 01.04.07
