No one can mix classical music with prog rock quite like these guys.

This album is like everything ELP tried to do throughout their career but never came close to achieving.

Such a killer album.

This rules Captain, the music is damn good. I don't mind the language barrier either since the vocals are good

Yeah they can do symphonic prog too. Ex; Banco of course, Museo Rosenbach, Le Orme, Locanda Delle Fate, Quella Vecchia Locanda, Il Volo (R.P.I.), to name a few.

I think I might like PFM a little more but it's so hard to decide between the two.

PFM have more folk influence which I love.

The Italian big three;

PFM (folk, more polished) > Banco (more dark, eclectic, synths-piano-driven often a la ELP) > Le Orme (ELP leaning mixed with folk)

imo.

I'd say that's pretty accurate. I have Le Orme's first album and it completely different from the later albums.

Yeah I just read it in progarchives: they explored pop psychedelia (like The Zombies?) before going prog.

Another good example of classical meets symphonic rock. From Banco;

Yes, of course. The original version of the song is found on their eponymous album. Song is a bit shorter but is as great as this one (found on Banco album, a cool compilation produced in English)
