Did you get 14 shades of 13 ways to bleed on stage?

I was a pretty big fan of Dysfunction. Always been a loyal Staind fan, and I think the patience I've had with them and the hope that they'd make another stellar album has finally paid off. Old raw energy plus matured songwriting equals win.

This is actually a really good album. My favorites off of this are Failing, Something to Remind You, Now, Take a Breath, and Throw It All Away.

I just youtubed some of their songs just for the hell of it, and their new album actually sounds pretty good. I enjoyed Dysfunction and Break the Cycle back in the day.

Yeah, I'm not buying the hype here. Sure it's heavier than their last albums, but I don't think that automatically means it's good.

Good review though I'm missing a bit of explanation about the atmosphere and message here and there (that's what this album's all about for me as with most of Staind's stuff in general). Other than that, well-written, reads fluently. Glad someone did a review on this, it deserves it. This album is a huge comeback for them.

Listening to this for the first time. Didn't like the radio singles so far from this (the first 2 tracks I believe) but 3rd track is all AIC grungy for the first part. Kind of surprising. But then the chorus ends up sucking, oh well lol

I don't get it. I've listened to the track you recommend, Take a Breath, and well: the intro riff was incredibly simplistic, in the style that I hate the most (with a repeating lower note and meaningless melody on the strong beats).

The song itself had great production but was so generic. I was sad to hear a Staind's song like that!

I still have some nostalgia for Staind.

This album sucks, as does The Illusion of Progress and Chapter V

Tormented, Dysfunction, Break the Cycle and 14 Shades of Grey are their only good albums.
