I feel like the production here is a mixed bag. When I first heard Kendrick, I thought Fuck Your
Ethnicity was such a good track because it was talking about racial stuff over a piano, I mean
how REAL is that shit? Then I realized it was really boring. So is Hol' Up.
but ADHD is so good. Especially chopped & screwed.

at times kendrick's raps are a little wordy or repetitive but he's incredibly well spoken, throws down fantastic beats and is a perfectionist in the vein of dre and mathers. his next lp could definitely be better than this one

I even listened to Friday Night Lights and shit. I mean I like his production but it just feels like
his lines are so corny a lot of the time and like you said, he lacks any charisma or even a niche for
himself. I know you said he was technical but I couldn't even really see much of that in him.
I think a lot of Cole is just unwoken potential.

yeah I guess Jay-Z is trying to recreate a new Kanye West with the next big producer/rapper. I like a
lot of his beats but his rapping just does nothing for me.

kendrick is charismatic as fuck. he manages to cover lots of different ground and make it all work pretty well.
"technical" is not right to describe j cole. i'd say he is technically superb meaning the technical aspects eg flow lyricism rhyme patterns etc are all really polished but he isn't overtly technical.
it's like he's a really well cut/polished zircon. i mean it looks really nice but at the end of the day it's just not as exciting as a diamond
