Once I heard what happened with Jesus Lacey, I said to myself ''All that music I used to enjoy listening to. Yeah, my ears liked it.. but it sounds awful and atonal now that I found out!!!'' I noticed after the news broke that when I examined the audio files from the album in a DAW like Audacity, the waveform had changed. All the notes were now different... atonal. Then I knew the harsh reality.. once a band has a controversy, their music is never the same. Literally.

And that's my story folks. A sad one. But not uncommon.

Sooo i'd like to break the Jesse Lacey talk for a minute:
I've never listened to BN but i've heard high praises for their discog, especially this one. What should i expect when listening to them?
I was never into Emo or Indie tbh so i never attempted getting into them, since i'm more of a prog/post/space rock kind of guy for the most part, and i do dig some metal genres too

wait seriously? rare to find someone who hasn't heard BN on this site...

the answer to your question depends on what point in their discography you listen...every album is a progression into new territory.

if you start at the beginning, they are very much a basic pop-punk band with some clever lyrics and a decent set of slower acoustic songs. their second album was more pop-rock, their third album is their best - very introspective, heavy indie-rock - their fourth has a grungy vibe with lots of screaming, and their latest/last is very much smooth, atmospheric indie-rock...

I really doubt he'll like this if he isn't into indie or emo music.

I'm not convinced of that. I have a lot of friends who are into nothing but metal and this is one of their top 10 albums, ever.
