I loved this one more than Deconstruction. The peaceful atmosphere and mesmerizing soundscapes on here are awesome. Fly is my favorite track next to Feather.

I figured a lot of people would have a problem with Deconstruction, Just as there are a lot of folks who think of it as a masterpiece. Its funny that the album, "Deconstruction" is suppose to be about finding what you really want in life and sorta tells you to introspect in order to find it (Facing fear of self). Because that statement alone kinda insists what your suppose to do when listening to the album. Maybe to ponder on the idea that you might be too much inside the box and not willing to explore or understand anything that is different. Sorta pointing out the ego some of us might all have lol It helps to look at "Deconstruction" at a theatrical point of view. The music goes with the situation that's being presented in the lyrics(at least for what you can tell Devin is trying to express, we know hes not the biggest fan of lyric writing). You notice when things get really conflicting in the music and sounds like Free will of humanity is collapsing on itself, The lyrics kinda suggest that. But for Deconstruction, Its kinda suppose to be a listening challenge and I know some of us might think "Well if its gonna be a challenge to listen to...that can't be too good". Yeah sure, if your stuck in the same rut in flavor. Folks just need to listen to music for what it is rather than what it isn't. Why limit yourself? Now Im not saying that I fully understand Deconstruction, and that is what its intended to do. None of us are going to be able to wrap our minds around it the first time. But why have an ego? Try to understand it rather than call it stupid or a mesh of noise. To me, if I can hear a sound..and I can identify it to a key and can stake on a time signature...then its not noise to me. But like the review says, your not getting it with just owning one of these albums...You gotta have them both. And Opeth in the nutshell of composition and concept....I don't think would top this album lol. I expect to hear the same shit with a slightly different swing out of most metal bands..Because thats how it always seems per-album. I give credit to artist who are more honest about themselves.

Must suck writing all that because I doubt people are going to be reading it.

really liked the start of this review, Ghost jumped right to the top of my list of CSs to calm down and just drift away. i'm kind of curious, what kind of people are reviewing this. ist this actually popular with metal fans and followers of SYL? i myself really enjoy the heavy sound of SYL or deconstruction, still i can't resist the beauty of this "masterpiece"

Most of Dev's music is pure genius, some of it is crap. I'm glad to say that this is not crap. It is incredible! Even if it is almost Enya-like in some spots. In my opinion there is no better music to calm yourself to.
My son, who is now three, takes after me in that he has been drawn to music ever since he was out of the womb. He is also very OCD like me. He has to listen to this album every night when he goes to bed. If he doesn't listen to this, he does not sleep. He will even wake up in the middle of the night and come tell me to turn his music back on. This doesn't make the album better really. But it sure makes it more special to me.

There was enough material written to make this a double album. And there have been rumors of Ghost 2 being released alongside one of his near future releases.

@demi have you heard the four songs released from it already? cos all more than live up to the material on this, especially Fall omg
@amphoteric the latest seems to be that it will be released as an add-on to Casualties of Cool so it just depends when that drops I suppose. Incredibly excited for both.
