my boss plays classic rock, i can conceivably play whatever I want when I'm by myself but I try to keep it palatable for the patients lol. So basically no metal and only certain kinds of hip-hop and definitely nothing as unique is this is

I am liking this. A lot.

Not to be blasphemous or anything, but it kind of reminds me of Fleet Foxes at times...

"be that as it may people will hear the chanting, immediately associate it with the middle east and bad/funny things might happen lol"

This doesn't sound Middle Eastern at all. Just play Ohohoh. Sounds like enya jungle music. nothing wrong with that.

This has more of a Native American feel to me. People that would associate with the middle east are fools.

Yeah, but the Native American influences are pretty clear. Sorne talked about them himself with the Native American graveyard and stuff. Also, considering that America was originally their land and stuff..

that's at least some kind of personal skill that you've trained at though, even if it achieves little

You can't choose your heritage

it doesn't reflect on you as a person, or your accomplishments or your personal self
betterment, so what's there to be proud of?

obviously you can be proud of your country it just doesn't make any sense unless you view other countries as inferior in some way

A tad late to the party, but yes it does make sense being proud of your nationality. The community is what grants us our basic ways & moral values, and taking pride of your birthplace is a logic consequence of the bonds produced with that community.

"is a logic consequence"

No, it isn't. It's not logical, it makes sense yes - because humans are first and foremost emotional beings and pride is more of a feeling than anything rational.

Which is also why you can feel "pride" or a "sense of belonging" to another country than the one you were born in, it doesn't need to make sense on a rational level.

Also, potsy is right. Pride or "patriotism" does not not imply chauvinism although these words are often used to camouflage such ideologies.
