I'm so depressed about all these ratings I dont know what to do, that and David Vincent looks like Nikki Sixx,

Yeah this isn't the worst thing ever. There's a few decent parts here and there, but overall it sucks ass. Still though, not the worst album I've ever heard.

it sucks, but it isn't emmure bad, you're really not gonna get much else out of me from this

It's a pretty fun listen

"Seriously, you've all heard worse" - Indeed! That's why I gave it a 1.5 instead of 1.0 There is one decent song, a couple of bad ones and the rest is so terrible that listening to it once was enough. Forever.

Yes it is. I think the lot of you should read the latest interview with David Vincent (Decibel Mag.) about what he was trying to achieve on this album (which he did in fact achieve). I'm actually glad I read about this album before I gave it a spin.

I read it too, but c'mon what a letdown

when did this fascination with electronics start with them

To be honest, I think these guys pull the industrial thing off better than half the bands who actually started out as industrial.

This doesn't make up for the fact that the tagged on industrial elements sound like shit. And that is my only gripe. I'm all for artistic integrity; bands should be able to do whatever the hell they want. But I'm not just gonna sid by idly and watch whenever a favourite band of mine releases something awful. No way.
I would've preferred an EP with the death metal songs and then the industrial songs released under a side-project.. but of course, that would make too much sense, wouldn't it..

If you want good industrial metal listen to V:28. The samples I heard off this were disappointingly horrid, even more so due to my high expectations(read soundoff for example)

This isn't exactly good, but I'm actually kind of shocked at how many people despise this new direction. I can definitely picture legitimately moshing to this at a show, and some parts sound pretty evil. Obviously compared to their first three it's shit, but in its own right it has its moments. New Cryptopsy is a much greater atrocity to me. Sad face forever.

Well when you go from listening to something like Altars of Madness to this then you should understand the disappointment. This is still horrid even if you don't compare it to their earlier albums.

My main point is that sometimes when you question an album, read into it first before you jump on board the hate train, less likely to be so "devastatingly" disappointed. The hate is overdone towards this album.

Hating this album is a little too fashionable. Fact is, if this wasn't a Morbid Angel record people would like it (okay, maybe only a little :P); it's mostly death metal elitists. Frankly I don't like the industrial tracks but the only truly bad song that earns the 1.5 stars this got is Radicult. All the death metal tracks are solid other than "I Am Morbid", which is a turd, but I'd at least give this 2.5...

Not really, it just makes it even worse that it's a Morbid Angel album. It still sucks regardless.
