The Tallest Man On Earth, and yeah, Nick Drake too.

I listened to The Tallest Man's new album when it dropped earlier this year and I wasn't all that impressed tbh. Maybe I'll have to check some of the earlier stuff. I'll check Nick Drake too.

Yeah, definitely check his earlier stuff. I love the new one, but a lot of the reaction was pretty negative. The Wild Hunt might be a great album to start with. Nick Drake has three albums, all of which are awesome. You might just go chronologically.

The Tallest Man On Earth rules, I've yet to jam Nick Drake though. Gotta get on that soon.

Still need to give Bon Iver a proper listen. My first listen was years ago and I think the vocals are what I couldn't get into.

This album is amazing. I'm not as big on For Emma as everyone else is, but that one is still solid too.

For Emma is a little more "bare bones", right? More the guy-and-his-guitar type of indie folk? From what I've read, this one seems like it's more dense from an instrumentation standpoint.

Yes I'd agree with that for sure.

The vocals take getting used to but it's worth it. Both this and For Emma are brilliant, though I slightly prefer this.

The songwriting on this album is just brilliant. I have way more of a connection with For Emma and like it more, but I think this might be objectively better

I agree with you there definitely, I think it flows MUCH better than For Emma as well

Sometimes I like to sing this album title to the tune of "Say My Name"

I can totally see where you're coming from saying it's overproduced but it doesn't bother me much, I love how much is going on in each individual song

I really, really need to listen to this. Considering I love folk, it's pretty embarrassing that I have yet to hear Bon Iver and Tallest Man On Earth and only recently checked Sufjan...

It's OK, Boney. I'm right there with you. I would say I enjoy a lot of folk music, but I still have not given a proper listen to any of the artists you listed.
