Understandable.
The last few songs really fucked up the album for me at first, but they grew on me a lot after a few listens. This still a bit behind Jupiter imo, but only a little.

I have yet to hear the other albums. I just hate how it's like one heavy half, then one half with weird acoustic songs and all clean vocals... If it were more balanced it'd make me a lot happier. if it was all as cool as Serpents I'd be a happy man

Serpents could have done with more lead guitar. Hm. It still rapes, though. It just sounds like a fast Zozobra song, IMO, whereas Sing My Loves and Cayman's Tongue are amazing and distinctly Cave In.

I listened to this to get the tracks like Serpents, man. It's slightly like if Dillinger released an album with a few acoustic songs on it- definitely don't listen to them for something so out of their element. I mean, they'd probably make it cool somehow, but it's a matter of what a band is best at, and how far they truly should stray from their comfort zone
