I love the contrast between both singers of the band. They have a great romance in their vocals.

Hmm, a 5 already? Is this like super duper ridiculously good, Steo?

Mmmmm, it's gorgeous stuff.
It could have went two ways with me after Two Dancers.

1.It could have been the same thing or simply not as good and stilled their constant improvement.

2.It surpassed Two Dancers and my expectations.

Safe to say; it was number 2. It's different to Two Dancers but because of this; makes the album
release all the more vital and iconic. It's not Two Dancers 2.0, it's Smother and makes Wild Beasts
a fierce important British rock band.

Damn, I guess I should check this out. I've been listening to so few 2011 albums.

It's certainly up there as one of my favorites. Takes an extensive listen though, as do all their albums.

My album of the year is Helplessness Blues. This is a close second though.

Fantastic record. "Lion's Share," "Bed of Nails" and "End Come Too Soon" are my favorites, but no one track drops the energy.

Weird that it didn't get a BNM from Pitchfork, especially since they've been handing them out like candy recently.

Yeah, gave it a solid review overall though. =)

Personally; 'Loop The Loop' and 'Reach a Bit Further' are my favorite tracks.

This CD is making me wish I could afford some Bose headphones. My old ones broke, now I just have some cheap $15 ones and feel like I'm missing out on full enjoyment.

One thing I love about Wild Beasts is that through their discography; all of their albums have been distinct and unique and the lyrical styles change too.

Will someone tell me why my picture won't show up?

And what I've noticed about this album most is, after every listen through I have a different song stuck in my head afterwards. Every damn time. Difference between that and "Simple Math" is only a few songs get stuck in my head.

Simple Math is half incredible and half passable

This is really good all the way through

I'm more with Ali on this.
It doesn't totally suck but a good portion of the album isn't all that great.

If that's the case I may leave off listening to Simple Math for a bit longer then. It's a shame though, I was a big fan of their old stuff because it used to be so consistent.

The best of Simple Math is the best material they've ever come up with. I really like it but I just find it a bit disappointing because you feel it could have been so much better.

Is there anything on the album that gets close to Sleeper 1972?

Pensacola, Virgin and Simple Math are the three best songs they've ever done imo
