It's my favourite too but I'd rate it significantly higher than a 4 personally. =P
Big fan of these guys.

end come too soon should be so corny but its gr8
|
| |
All of their albums end with a song about the end or saying goodbye. =P I don't think they've noticed that... or they have and they'll continue to do it forever.

This is their 3rd best, but it's growing on me, loop the loop and end come too soon especially

this is only slightly better than present tense tbh

i think present tense has some better cuts but smother is the better all-around listen - but it could be that i hold present tense in a higher regard because it was the new album when i saw them live and i absorbed it into my blood stream

present tense was inconsistent yeah, doesn't hit it's stride until the 4th/5th track and palace is a weak closer imo. 'sweet spot' jams and 'daughters' was so oddly sinister (in a non-foppy way for once), pregnant pause is my fave though
this meanwhile is just great the whole way through

oh man palace is probably my favourite track, i guess they'd set a high bar with closers though. i love 'mecca', 'sweet spot' and 'past perfect', too.

it's a peculiar stance...

I think I like their other stuff more, but lion's share might be my favorite song overall

I’ve been working my way thru the WB discog and this is their quintessential effort, perfect album imo
