This popped up in my MOG recommendations for some odd reason (since I liked Vision of Disorder and Rage Against the Machine?). Back when it came out I remember thinking how much they had improved over their first album. Listening to it again, it's not terrible I guess. There's something intangible with it; I just can't bring myself to think of it as 'good'. The drum production drives me insane as well. The kick and the snare just sound so tinny. It's not as bad as I remember thinking it was though, so I guess that's a positive. I enjoyed your write-up.

Yeah, the background of its recording, if it's true, is quite creepy as well.

From wikipedia:
"While recording vocals for the final song "Iowa" he was completely naked, vomiting all over himself and cutting himself with broken glass."

All the mumbling Corey is doing at round about the halfway point of the track is the point where he mutilates himself.
Apparently anyway.
