this is probably the best they've done.

Decided to get this on vinyl and give it a fair listen for the first time, and goddamn was that the right choice. This is better than Sunbather and New Bermuda.

darn

Sunbather is still top for me. Bermuda is pretty mediocre. This is much better but not as good as Sun.

Hard disagree. I think a lot of this progresses aimlessly. Sunbather is definitely more concise and overall "connected" and methodically constructed as far each individual songs goes, and all the tracks together (barring the interludes, which i tend to ignore anyway.) This definitely set the groundwork for Sunbather though, so I give it credit for that .

i think all the respective tracks here flow perfectly, and as much as i love sunbather no track can touch violet

yeah, violet is such a great track.

Violet is a top tier tracks that sits comfortably with their best, but I think I prefer most of sunbather (except dream house) more than it. Honestly, their demo tracks are by far their most overlooked IMO.

Their demo *is* really solid. I think this album flows a lot better than Sunbather because Sunbather had those pointless interludes... but its actual tracks were a bit stronger/more consistent than those on 'Judah. I think I prefer this album because of how much more straightforward is it; I just like the song structuring way more.
