This is a 3-3.5, but I'm giving it the benefit right now. There's better black metal out there Sea.

good review, i'll pos. i think i might prefer their demo to this album by a small margin but they slay pretty hard regardless.

also at xeno, this band is making waves everywhere, far from being a sputnik band.

There it is, and I'm glad you sent it Kyle's way as well.

Overall, metal is rather suck-y so far this year.

Great review Sea. Upon listening to this I also felt there were some screamo elements to be found, nice to see I wasn't the only one thinking that.

thanks! still not sure if it's just me being metal-ly ignorant haha, but I definitely hear some Gospel in there, as well as some more post-rock-y stuff like Fall of Boss Koala if anyone else can relate.

You keep bringing up that you don't know much about metal, and it's incredibly irrelevant. You don't need to be fluent in a genre to write a convincing review, or back up your arguments. You succinctly and confidently wrote a good review of this, so pointing out your musical inadequacies constantly just seems unnecessary.

xeno: had this conversation with some guy in my EITS review, but in general I think it's beneficial when judging music
to have some sort of context to place it in genre-wise... I understand how/why some people think otherwise though,
and it's really no use arguing over : ) You're right though, I keep saying it and I'll just shut up haha. No hard feelings?
