This is pretty great but I don't see Frank getting any better. He'll probably lean to a totally derivative, mainstream sound (incidentally, I smell an Odd Future downfall this year) that will alienate the Sputnikers that enjoy his stuff.

i dunno. i think frank is too talented of a songwriter to go down that road, but i agree about an odd future "downfall" happening this year. them niggaz is fallin off

On the topic of the song "swim good", I don't think swim well would sound nearly as good in the context of the song. Also, I don't think his lyrics are immature as much as playfull. I find his care-free word choice paired with his deeper themes to be part of his charm. I don't know if that's the best way to describe it but I'm sure sputnik knows what I'm saying. Even when his themes aren't deep or meaningfull like "swim good" or "there will be tears", I don't find his lyrics to be immature. It's not like an r&b artist is going to write an album using proper english, grammar and such because that's simply not the culture. /rantover

I don't really see a downfall coming. They'll probably fall off a little bit since every person in the world has been obsessed with them for 2 years, but I don't know about a "downfall."

Maybe "downfall" was a little bit overboard, but they're new stuff will probably mostly suck.

I'm looking forward to the new MellowHype and of course looking forward to a new Earl album. Don't know how good Tyler's new album will be though.

WOLF will have some awesome beats
Same goes for the next EARL and Domo releases

Domo's release from last year was good stuff. I'd like to hear a new Mike G album too.
|
| |
yeah I liked Under the Influence, it was fun

Mike G's new album hopefully will be good because ALI was pretty enjoyable for the three real tracks it did have but Award Show EP sucked. I'm pretty sure this one will have OF production and less..boring-ness. He's improved a lot on the mic, too.
and I hope Domo Genesis goes back to Tyler beats instead of those shitty boring piano ones because the production on Rolling Papers is some of the best in the OF discography.

shitty boring piano ones
|

Well that is kind of what I said, yeah. We get it, the producer probably listened to Nujabes a lot but it was all just the same old boring piano-driven jazzy beats.

I love the way Frank's handling the whole Don Henley thing. "Like, why is this rich motherfucker picking on the new guy?" or words to that effect.
Henley needs to fuck right off
