I agree, but like I said some people can fathom the contents of the review better when they get a general idea of what the review's about.

Sure the summary can do that but people don't necessarily write a summary and even if they did, it doesn't always clear up the review's subject matter.

for example:



Summary: Dan Shoobert takes on a more electronic sound with his 2011 record, still keeping what made him the definitive "Shoobert" fully intact.



which does help summarize the review, but readers like me don't exactly know what they're 'reading for'. whereas:



Pros:

new electronic sound approached nicely

vocals are vastly improved

acoustic guitar keeps a nostalgic feel going



Cons:

sounds too 'grand' in places

maybe a bit TOO poppy for some

bass is pathetic



is more specific and gives us a more detailed big picture.
