I dunno man, isn't Shotgun Messiah some hair metal band...?

And apparently you'll be reviewing Golden Age now too? Positive review I hope?

Shotgun Messiah was a hair metal band, but when Tim wanted to make them an industrial band most of the other people left and then they released Violent New Breed which is straight up industrial metal.

And apparently you'll be reviewing Golden Age now too? Positive review I hope?
No, I won't. Did I say I was somewhere -- or, more likely, did it sound like I said I was somewhere?

Hair metal turned industrial? Christ that is a big jump.

I'll be reviewing that too. I actually have decent expectations for it now.

You posted this right after someone was talking about Golden Age so I could only assume...

Oh, I found the quote. He said: I'll check out the whole album when it comes out. I dig this guy's work on Marilyn Manson's The Golden Age Of Grotesque.

I was replying to the "I'll check out the whole album when it comes out" part of that... ha ha, oops.

It's kind of cool because the riffs still have a bit of that 80s rock swagger and there's good guitar solos and decent choruses.

That Shotgun Messiah album is really great. It's a shame it doesn't get the recognition it deserves. Tim's solo stuff just never grabbed me like the other industrial stuff out during that time period.

Guess someone didn't read the review ;) This band's older stuff consists of a debut solo album that isn't very good. This is good but you have to ignore the first song and most of the remixes. The upcoming new album should be good and worth your effort and his old band's last album (Shotgun Messiah - Violent New Breed) is also worth getting.

Man, I forgot about Tim Skold. I loved his work on The Golden Age of Grotesque with Manson but his work on Eat Me, Drink Me was so mediocre. Makes me curious if this is worth looking into.

I'd say that it is. There's also a new full album coming.

Does he do the vocals and everything? Never listened to his solo work before.

He does everything. His first solo album wasn't very good. It lacks power. This one seems to be a return to his industrial metal roots.

Yeah. Apparently he did basically all the music for those two albums. I should check them out.

Eat Me is one of the worst albums I've ever heard...

Funny enough, Golden Age is one of my favourite albums so I second it being worth a listen.
