always had the most immense amount of respect for this guy but couldn't for the life of me really get into one of his albums (though a few songs I've played on repeat soooo many times) but on first listen I think this is the album that changes that.

john darnielle has never made anything disappointing. it's... unreal. glad some good folk finally came out this year.
