A 1.5 is a ridiculous score, it's just a personal reflection. I feel the album would normally sit at a
3.5, I'm just super pessimistic sometimes... I get in a bad mood, listen to an album and if I slightly
dislike it; it's a low score. I'll bump it up after two or more listens.

It felt to me like a diary but then not many musical pieces can do that so finding something even
close to it, is rare. For example; how Hospice of The Antlers actually plays out like a story or how
The Clown by Charles Mingus, through an intro and music feels like some sort of barber shop folklore.

fair enough. didnt mean to tell you your rating was wrong or anything. =) funnily enough i actually think of diary entry when i listen to a lot of mingus' stuff.

Not all Mingus stuff (ala Mingus Ah Um being without lyrics) but when lyrics are used; it does have this sort of quaint 50's story feel, which obviously is true to the times of the release. =)

Villagers - Becoming a Jackal had this sort of diary feel but it was far more surreal with the inclusion of ghosts and jackals and such. =P
