Listening to this now. Sounds miles different from RCHP, I like it. The dirty production rules.

Still waiting for him to get off his arse and release something new though. It's been nearly three years of nothing. I thought the main reason he quit RHCP was to focus on his solo stuff?

This is his best solo work. Where is the next?

Even the noise (read: instrumental) tracks are amazing

I was reading something yesturday and I believe their could be something in his contract (when he left the peppers) that he wouldn't be able to release a new record within a specific time frame of when 'I'm With You' dropped. Either that or he just doesn't give a shit and is simply recording to please himself (very possible indeed).

Oh yeah of course the contract could have something to do with it. We all know he has a ton of unreleased music, it'd be nice for his fans if he put some out there every now and then. I mean I wasn't expecting a repeat of 2004 (6 albums in 6 months) but it's a shame that so much talent is going to waste.

not that this has much to do with this album, but I had a kid arguing with me the other day about who has was a virtuoso: Yngwie or Frusciante. Was pretty funny.

Anyway, album will be a 4 or a better when I listen to it agian most likely.

Haha I can imagine that would be quite amusing. Yngwie probably has JF (and 99% of guitarists) beat for technique, but what he does is self-indulgent wank showoff bullshit with no musical value whatsoever. It's just fucking boring.

Well this clown was actually trying to argue about what the term "virtuoso" even meant. He was a complete jackass and I was actually getting pretty pissed with his stupidity by the end of the argument.

Was retarded to say the least.

Frusciante can just play the same notes over and over (Murderers) and it sounds much better than other guitarist's wank fests haha

Initial impression is its way overrated... John is way better than this poor material...I was really hyped only to be stuck with camp fire sing-a-long tracks....hmmmm...very disappointing...

Tyrone what were you expecting? If it's too poppy for you maybe check out his earlier work (Niandra and Smile). His albums are quite diverse, none of them really sound alike

@TommyGun - there's clearly a point to this album I'm missing so I'll give it another 2 weeks then adjust my rating if need be...thanx for de advice tho, will try and get my hands on some of his older stuff....oh and I was expecting more guitar and less vocals...

@CelestialDust - Stop being a fanboy and learn to respect another persons opinion...one man's meat is another's poison...so go back to ur corner and listen to ur Norah Jones album...
