He's only avoiding it because he doesn't want to hear his album of 2011 so early in the year.

Looking back on 'M&H', I think it was required to bridge between 'TDTT' & this. If they had jumped straight to this from 'TDTT', then I reckon this may not have been as successful.

First experience with this band. Singer sucks, but I find that I don't mind. Weird. Very good album.

Haha. As strange as that comment re: Matt sounds, that's the way most people feel. He doesn't bring down the band, even if he doesn't lift them to another level either.

Yes, that's a much better way to say it haha. And there are certain parts of the album where he absolutely owns it. Title track comes to mind.

There is no doubt that he can hit certain notes perfectly (& he did so on their earlier albums), but there are times where he really struggles. It shows out live too.

Is the drummer good live? At screaming I mean? If so, seems like it would still be a fun show. Guy gives off a vibe like he'd be a very enthusiastic and engaged frontman, probably part of the reason I don't mind his relative lack of actual talent for singing.

Yeah, Ryan's screaming is solid live... As solid as you can be when you're still smashing away at the drums at the same time.
As for Matt, he has his on & off nights unfortunately.
