Such a flawless album. Shame the original 1967 master tapes were lost so the only way you'd get to hear that is from the pre-remastered issues. Nights In White Satin sounds much more epic in the original master.

My dad has the original record
But yeah any version of this is still epic and a classic

I have an original vinyl and a CD which sounds identical to my ears. I'm not sure what the drama is all about. Maybe there's some remastered out there to avoid. I also have the 45 "Nights" single with "Cities" and that sounds just like the shorter version on the compilation albums. That one doesn't have an orchestral backing after the bridge.

When I think "classic" my mind usually goes to this

Yeah it's definitely up there with the best, though I couldn't decide on a favorite Moody Blues album. This, In Search, Threshold and EGBDF are all fantastic

this sounds so dated...the orchestration gives it such an artificial feel, it sounds like some soundtrack from a forgotten 50's Hollywood film.
The songwriting is awesome, though.

I just heard Knights in White Satin.
HOLY SHIT 0_0
The chorus makes me think Rem's song "This one goes out to the one i love" was inspired during the "FIIIIIIIIIIIIREEEEEEEEEEE" portion
