I think he sometimes over-enunciates on this record, as opposed to ALIR where I think he's just suitably overwrought. I don't hear the Rob Thomas thing myself, though.

I sort of see what you're saying in the comparison.

I wish I could think or a Thomas/Matchbox20 song right now where he does it. But I do agree with what you say about the comparison of this album to ALIR Adam. There are 1 or 2 songs on here where Jason over-steps the line I think & it borders on annoying.

Agreed.

'Goodnight Moon' from the EP is better than any Mayday Parade track.

Yeah, but have you seen the review of that EP on this site... That song is like "easily the worst song on the EP". LOL.

You have a heart of stone Strikey. Lancaster wrote it practically on the day of his dad's funeral. Erin's vocal accompaniment tops it off nicely.

awful vocals, also the beginning seems like an exact copy from disturbed indestructible beginning.

awful vocals & you still found it in your heart to give it a 3. You're a nice smurf.

Agreed on the siren opening though... I think it's been used a few times before Disturbed too.

Haha. I'm sure it wasn't a direct rip-off, but it was rather (for want of a better word) cliched. The song is apparently about a dream he had c oncerning the end of the world, hence the siren.

That's the thing Thomas, his vocals are indeed iffy at times, but they're also part of what makes this band them. Like most distinctive vocalists, it's just a matter of giving them enough listens to get over it. Although I definitely think he exagerrated his enunciation way too much at certain times on this album.
