That's actually so true. The debut feels so much shorter than this.
Album is perfect.

That's so weird... I wonder why it seems so short.

You can hear his progression as a song writer here so clearly.
His debut is really good but it just feels like a really nice short EP, it has a few standout tracks but the whole experience is lacking that "wow" factor.
This really pulls a lot of emotion with it's depressing acoustic work. First 7 songs on here are a god like stream of quality, though the whole thing rules.

This is pretty good but I believe most everything that followed was more impressive
The atmosphere on this is great but a lot of the songs judged in isolation are a little insubstantial

but it emphasizes elliott's voice and that's what matters

His vocals are always as good for me - I'd also say a song like Waltz No 1 does interesting things for his voice that aren't evident here
Generally I'd say x/o is very underrated among those who discuss Smith here (I know the average score is strong)

all i need is elliott lamenting and playing his acoustic guitar. the other instruments aren't really necessary

Either/Or is my favourite so I guess I largely agree as there's not too much more going on there instrumentally. I guess I must just like where his song writing went. The occasional Baby Britain or Independence Day type track appeals to me
