yeah man, I know and I was in a dilemma of reviewing Tatooed Millionaire and Brian Eno's 2nd ambient album

Think I'll finish Eno's review and then work on that

Tears of the Dragon might be one of Bruce's best songs.

love bruce got everything that he has recorded on vinyl and cd but i have yet to rate or speak about any of his solo albums so i thought id start on the one i like the least now im not saying that there arent any good songs here far from it like the review states tears of a dragon is an absolute stonker laughing in the hiding bush shoot all the clowns and cyclops are great tracks but the production is very weak here tracks like cyclops for example is just asking to be brought forward into the mix it has a sinister vibe to it but its almost lost in the clean sounding production, there are a lot of fillers here and maybe its me but i think bruce is trying too hard to keep things acoustic and away from his roots which is heavy rock my rating is going to be 2.5 oh and the album title came about when bruce seen this written on a bog wall somewhere and thought thatl make a cool album title um think not anyway

I went into this album thinking it would sound like Iron Maiden's early 90s era (I know, I know, I was being a little silly thinking like that), so my surprise as to how different the majority of this album sounded in comparison is probably understood. That said, some songs here are obviously considerably weaker than others, such as the bland 'Fire' (the title suggesting anything but weak) and inconsistent 'Change of heart', and others are just, well, 'weird' (or Avant-Garde, if you like), such as mind-bending opener 'Cyclops' which is instrumentally experimental given that the first half of the song seems to have a sudden change in musical direction. However, the remaining songs I thought were actually quite well written and pretty damn decent, even by Dickinson's standards. 'Gods of war' and '1000 points of light' are definitely my highlights.

My favorite album by Bruce. Just because its so different and variated from what he used to do with Iron Maiden. Tears of a Dragon is a classic but theres a lot of exploration that might surprise the most distracted listeners.
