New album is excellent, think I'll end up preferring it to the Bon Iver and James Blake releases from this year. It has developed some of the ideas from the DARKSIDE album which is something I was hoping for.

Well Bon Iver and James Blake are both terribad so that isn't saying much. It definitely has some common DNA with Darkside, I don't know if it is a step beyond that ideas-wise or more just him splitting the difference between Darkside and his previous solo material

The two 9+ minute tracks are superb

Well the two 9+ minute songs are the meat of the album so that's a pretty good start. I think the strange 'filler' songs with the sampled voices will make sense on repeated listens.

Concerning the new one: Killing Time, Three Sides of Nazareth, The Governor and the end of History Lesson - all really excellent stuff

Is The Governor a divisive one or are y'all enjoying it?

I've listened to the album five times now and I'm feeling really comfortable with a 4.5 rating

The Governor sounds like Elvis getting sucked into the star tunnel from 2001: A Space Odyssey... I'm not crazy about that track

Sirens is sitting around a low 4 for me at the moment, I slightly prefer this album at this point

Poly I had a feeling that track would be the troublesome one

New one is really good. Only listened once so far but liked it a lot on first listen and it feels as though it has a lot of potential to grow with repeated listens.

Yeah but I mean significantly.

I've never seen this guy as an album artist (by that I mean someone who puts out his best work in the form of an album) but the new one feels as though it could change my opinion on that.

Perhaps I ought to try again with the new one - I found it a little empty

I listened to the album today with the rain falling against an open window reclined in a hot bath for the entire runtime and I gotta say it was perfect
