I agree with a lot of what this review says, but don't agree that it's THAT bad. It's Mogwai business
as usual and it's doing nothing they haven't don't countless times before, but there are still enough
really good songs on here to warrant at least a 3.

really harsh review, the album's really good. the expectations are killing all the fun this record is. enjoy it objectively, don't wait every second for comparisons with earlier efforts

Letters to the Metro is really pretty.

so I gave this a listen after Sigur Ros opened my eyes to post-rock and I like it

I had an entire plane trip to check this album out, so I did. It made the trip even more boring.

"Music For A Forgotten Future" is Mogwai's best song.

white noise is mogwai's best song, and one of the best songs of 2011, and one of the best post-rock songs ever. other than that, the album is pretty good. definitely one of their most interesting.

neahh...White Noise sounds a bit too generic. Top 3 for me here are - San Pedro, Rano Pano and Mexican Grand Prix. However, You're Lionel Ritchie! has grown a lot on me too.
