Can't find it in me to like this album overall. Some sweet moments, but pretty disjointed and tactless.

first 3 songs are legendary, then too much ambient BS, then marasm omfg 10/5, then the last few are just solid

A New Aurora and My Hands Will Burn First are immense. Then Ascending comes in pretty well. Then it seems to drag on forever imo, that ambient one Infinite Sunset of the Sleepless Man was nice but still, way too much disjointed and self reliant ambient stuff that in my honest opinion, they fail to nail. I mean they have some good stuff going on, but it feels like it mounts up to nothing in the end. I didn't feel like the atmosphere they try to create is a strong one at all. Marasm is pretty meh as far as i see it.

I mean no contempt nor disrespect to the band or anyone who feels completely different about this album. Just wanted to discuss about this, i seriously fail to see what makes this a 4.1 in this site!

You make valid points. But where do you put Empire in all of this?
I feel like the ambient parts are there just to be a break from all the crushing heavyness. Those tracks does feel like they've been rushed and forced in to the middle of this.

Empire has it's place in the album i guess, and for a while i thought it would sink in, but it didn't. Much like a The Arusha Accord song that didn't quite work.

"I feel like the ambient parts are there just to be a break from all the crushing heavyness. Those tracks does feel like they've been rushed and forced in to the middle of this."

100% agreed there. I couldn't express it better myself, but that is indeed how i feel about them. Those slower ones don't quite go well with the rest of the album, instead feel like they were rushed into it, i don't feel them making a good blend at all.

empire is like the perfect opener, unleashes everything right from the start, the rest of the album is just like a trip. flows perfect, i like how they reused one of the early riffs on nicholas, it just sounds so good

Still think the ambient tracks between My Hands and Glances 2 is too long.
Album is still a beast though.
