This album is really hit and miss with me. Oh well, at least I will always have Annie.

Swedish songstress Robyn completes her gimmicky trio of 2010 releases with the 15 track 'Body Talk' LP. Holding its own in clubs and on radio, this is an album full of contradictions... While including previously heard songs adds familiarity, it is negated by a slight lack of cohesiveness... Robyn's lyrics make for some of the smartest pop around on the highlights, yet the intentionally icy production often results in an undeserving emotional disconnect on the latter tracks. Bravely filled with futuristic electro-pop, only time will tell how ground-breaking 'Body Talk' is. Recommended Tracks: Dancing On My Own, Indestructible, U Should Know Better & Call Your Girlfriend.

I think the lyrics are enough to create an emotional connection Davey. Plus the contrast between the personal lyrics and the emotionless electro-pop furthers the impact. A lyric such as "fembots have feelings to" wouldn't work if the music wasn't so calculated and robotic.

Of course we will Davey. But because we'll be forced to, not cause we'll want to.

I should have clarified that better. I agree to a point Lucidity. The better songs on here work because of that contrast (which is quite an achievement). But the weaker songs (mostly towards the end) fail because of that, where-as they could have been half-decent if the music just stayed in the background & let Robyn work her magic.

It's undoubtedly decent pop, but that's all I can say. It's not very memorable apart from a few tracks (Hang With Me, for instance), but there's a lot of duds, to say the least, tracks that pass by as if they're nothing at all, and worse than that, Don't Fucking Tell Me What To Do is worse than Peacock from Perry's Teenage Dream. It's some really bad Daft Punk tribute, that builds no momentum and is disappointing because she can do a lot better than that. In fact, she can did better than she did in 2010 in general.

One of the best pop albums of the past two years. The style and sound has been done before (though not as well), but Robyn exudes an attitude of confidence through the entire record. Coupled with the great production and overall consistency of the record, and you've got a beast of a pop album.
