have any of you ever seen any of stereogum's metal coverage? i think its their main metal writer, but either way he says that marrow of the spirit is not only the band's best album, but the best album of the 21st century. its funny bc here, its pretty much taken for granted that this is not as good as their other albums

Opeth alienated fans too, although I'd say they did it in a different
way.
They didn't do it by sounding cheesy or generic, but simply, by
embracing a roots approach.
