Gonna be a first day buy for me. Not digging it as much as DTGL or LITSOS, but I'm sure it'll sound ten times better on cd versus myspace streaming

"Not digging it as much as DTGL or LITSOS"

Same here. Not as hard hitting, and far less intense. Much more refined, just not as interesting.

Their last album was incredibly generic and boring...is this one better or more of the same?

No this is the best album they've ever realeased I've decided. It might be my only UO album to break a 4.5

This is nowhere near less intense than LITSOS or DTGL.

but this isn't as dynamic or contains as much as dgtl did. there's nothing really to it. not saying its bad but no way it beats dgtl

I get a deftones vibe from paper lung, and a radiohead vibe from driftwood. The future of underoath should definitely be interesting if they continue to follow this path.

This album just lacks the catchiness and hooks of their previous efforts for me.

You're obviously an Aaron lover, right?

I've always gotten hooked on Spencer's vocals, and this album doesn't disappoint in that department

Am sorely tempted by the pre-order package with the special edition and the hoodie, but then i'd have to wait for it to ship from America, rather than just buying it in 2 days. Ugh.

I'm so glad Aaron is gone, not because of his vocals but because of the aesthetic his vocal presence brought to their music (his drumming was awesome over their past two albums though). LITSOS grew off me so hard after a while...the middle of that album just gets so boring.

^^Agreed about the middle of LITSOS being boring, Coming Down is Calming Down and We Are the Involuntary especially sucked.

Anyway, this new album is solid. There's some enjoyable tracks, but Catch Myself, Reversal, Vacant Mouth, and My Deteriorating are boring.
