i really can't get to this at the moment, although i like the record's general mood.
Perhaps sludge is not my thing.

If you're not feeling this then probably so, since this is probably the least sludgiest "sludge" released this year.

fuck must get

Actually, I thought this album was more of the same sludgy shenanigans. It all sounded the same, and was typical prog type stuff.
I don't think it's a big evolution at all. More of the same genre.
That being said...they do it exceptionally well and I really liked the album for what it was. I'm thinkin' a 3.5.

You can not enjoy it all you want, but it's pretty undeniable that the band has progressed in terms of their sound and what they're capable of. Whether or not it's a step in the right direction on their part is debatable I guess.

Nomos obviously doesn't listen to much sludge metal. This is far from the typical sludge and an obvious evolution.

As incredible as this album is, I hope their live show is equally as good...I hate when a band's live performance doesn't live up to their recordings...

They're playing in Athens this Saturday. Too bad I'm already going to this huge local show. Hopefully seeing Defeater in two days too.

Saw them play stuff of the new album live last night. Absolutely perfect, almost better than High on Fire, perhaps better.

Saw them in March, pretty immense show. Gotta love the trademark shirtlessness of Matt Pike even in fairly chilly weather. Seeing them again this weekend...pretty pumped.
