Taco take it from most in this comment section, his early stuff is worth getting into...this is completely different and a complete train wreck.

Very nice review MarkoAttack, though this wouldn't be my thing even if it'd be actually good. Pos

For all those poo-poo'ing this album. Give it more listens.

This album has much emphasis on melodies than most previous albums. It is almost a bit too pop-sounding, but musically, it is extremely tight. That tight jazzy-pop sound is familiar, but mixed with distortions and bass makes an interesting sound you don't hear. Musically it is unique enough.

If you are open to Prince + The Smiths + some old Squarepusher, then I think you'll find this album appealing.

I feel like this album is underrated. This review is terribly biased, short sighted, and ignorant at a few points. You continually call it a dance album but it really isn't. Most of the songs have a simple rock or jazz song structure. Maybe it's the simple 4x4 drums that make you think it's a dance album but that's not the case. You seem more upset that it isn't like his older stuff than anything to do with the music. You do a very poor job of explaining how the music actually sounds.

I also think it's a really unique album. It takes some of the idm sound SP has always used with a wide variety of jazz/funk instruments combined with various synths and makes for a good listen. I also thought the vocoder singing was pretty cool.

"Why don't you just listen to some Daft Punk or Basement Jaxx or The Chemical Brothers or .....you get my point."

1. because this came out in 2010

2. because this sounds completely different then the three.
