Have you ever listened to the band Built to Spill? I'm listening to their CD, Perfect From Now On atm and it's really great. They sound sort of like a mix of Pavement, Modest Mouse and Wilco.
You would probably really like them.

"Con: Long mid-section"
?!
I couldn't disagree more with this. The link of tracks 4-9, in my opinion, are what make this album...

Even though we don't see eye-to-eye, very well done review

i agree with the review, great beginning and end, just dies down a little in the middle, which is where u want it if it has to happen i guess... 3rd planet, i came, and gravity are all spectacular.

This is definitely a must-have album for Modest Mouse though. Personally, I think this is their best to date.

handoman: redsky is definitely right. This and Lonesome Crowded West are by far their best.

Is this like Kid A, or OK Computer?

kinda, but not really. its a lot more eccentric and cold. given your ratings you'd probably dig this.
