The dodgy production makes it sound bad-ass. Brass Tax is the fucking shit though. So is Sycamore.

New Yorkers Such Gold turn up the pace & aggression to mixed results on their 6 track 2nd EP 'Pedestals'. While both the dual guitar-work & vocals have technically improved, the quintet are still finding their true sound, with little of their pop-punk roots remaining. A melodic brand of hardcore punk appears to be the genre of choice & it works brilliantly on standout 'Sycamore', but - despite a couple of guest vocal spots - the too raw production fails to find enough hooks to make this 15 minutes worth truly memorable. The potential is there though, so Such Gold's upcoming debut LP will indeed be interesting. Recommended Tracks: Sycamore & So Close.
