AAL has a lot of faux heaviness going on cos of the production.

Basically the riffs are p boring in places and just seem 'heavy' cos of the production.

No faux heaviness, just the type of distortion/ pedals/ blood/ sweat/ tears/ semen/ saliva infused into this badboy. Plus it's hardcore, wtf else do you want?

in the end the two records arent that different but AAL is a lot tighter and the songs feel more like "songs" instead of bursts of anger (which im not saying is a bad thing, but..)

This album's basically a giant tribute to 90's/early 2000's hardcore and metalcore and for that I fucking love it

but I guess it's not VIOLENT enough for some peeps

the production on it is a lot of what kills it

like this style only works with gritty evil sounding production but this has like this really big booming clean sound to it that sounds awful

yo this rules but it is kind of funny that the lyrics are like "I won't follow or swallow any of your shit" and the main dude doesn't want to make the band a full time touring outfit because he wants to keep his job in IT and support his wife and kids

pretty sweet situation if you ask me, just tickled me

The production is lo-fi and gritty. It totally works for how raw and abrasive this is. I didn't like Abandon All Life because that album was too clean and robbed the band of the rawness that this album had.
