One of the only great albums of the 90's.

Nice review, although I would have given "hello" and "Roll with it" 5/5

nice review, I disagree with She's electric Its one of my favourite Oasis songs, but its got loads of classics on the album.
I prefer Definitley maybe to whats the story morning glory, I think it has more rockier songs and they are all excellent, whereas I think quite alot of people prefer whats the story morning glory because of about 5 songs.

Great review, great album. Its just such a shame that Oasis have never even got close to this again. Champagne Supernova is my favourite off this album.

This is basically the only Oasis album I really like. But MAN is this a great album. Good review, except for the she's electric. I love that song, and I think the lyrics are fine.

I personally prefer Definitely Maybe as it's more rockier but this is a top album

I agree totally. Fresher & more varied rather than rockier. They are very similar, and the only worthwhile albums by Oasis.
Definitely Maybe (4/5)
What's the Story (3.5/5)

nope, they're not the only worthwhile albums by Oasis. all of their cd's is great, it's just a different sound on all of them.

i love this cd, and it's a 5/5 album.

Oasis were great but I think they've definately gone off the boil (Be Here Now is not as bad as people say it is but apart from that, onl;y the odd song has been good in recent years).
I got Definately Maybe, Morning Glory and Be here Now off e-bay and they're classic albums.

!!!She's Electric is amazing! One of my fave songs, very Beatley Revolver-esque. Fun lyrics

Thanks. Actually I didn't mix them up, since "Cast No Shadow" is brilliant and "She's Electric" is quite average compared to the rest of the list. :D

Hi Subtle Dagger,

well, I love Oasis, so I might not be the most objective one to criticize your review, but I think you're quite missing the point:

1. "Liam's voice is terribly obnoxious": Hmmm, so you don't like his voice. I think that his "obnoxious" delivery defines Oasis' "I don't give a ****"-attitude. Hey, he is not a great singer, but he's got that attitude! And by the way: If you would allow only "real" singers in Rock, there would be no more Rock Bands.

2. About that whole "ripping off Beatles"-Thing: Noel never made a secret of where his inspirations come from. He doesn't even say that his songs are "original". So, he's inspired by the Beatles? Well, better than being inspired by Supertramp, am I right? And about that line, they have "stolen": Come on, you don't really mean that. That's quoting a line, paying homage, tribute or whatever. There are bands that basically steal everything from other bands, with the difference that they would never be so honest as to confirm it. And you blame Oasis of "Stealing" cause they used ONE ridiculous line from an old Lennon tune? You must be kidding me!

Thanks for your generosity, but why are you reviewing an album of a band you seem to hate so much? Don't waste your time!

Oasis are great. I take back at I sed before, having purchased ALL their albums and going to see then IN CONCERT IN JULY IN MANCHESTER!!!
And I now say: They had a low point, around Standing On The Shoulders (despite Fuc*in In The Bushes and Go Let It Out being two of their best songs), but Heathen Chemistry was pretty good, despite some cheeky filler.
Hindu Times is one of the best rock songs I've ever heard.

I never gave a complete review, just a summary. But whatever.

He's not singing, he's whining. Through his nose. That is the problem.
And you blame Oasis of "Stealing" cause they used ONE ridiculous line from an old Lennon tune? You must be kidding me!

That doesn't matter, I just mentioned it because it pisses me off. It has no releveance on the sound of the band, which in my opinion is incredibly lackluster and boring.
Thanks for your generosity, but why are you reviewing an album of a band you seem to hate so much? Don't waste your time!

Once again, not a review, and I share my opinions of everything I've heard on this forum.

in some ways i agree with subtledigger even though he doesn't know what he is talking about. the lyrics in don't look back in anger "im gonna start a revolution from my bed" isn't a direct quote its a reference to the bed sit in that john lennon and yoko did, and anyway noel has come out and that this albums major influences are the beatles i mean don't look back in anger was according to noel a tribute to lennon you look all that song and there are references. if it was any other band oasis was strongly being influenced by other than the beatles i might have some negative things to say but i don't because in my opion the beatles were are and will be the greatest band of all time, period
