I forgot how much I dislike Purple Haze compared to the rest of this album. Such a terrible opener..

You probably wouldn't have been able to comprehend, understand and appreciate what he did. It all came afterwards, after his death.

Good point. Maybe yes, maybe no. I was there when '90s bands were making a name for themselves and even then we could feel that some of them were making history. When an artist is doing what Jimi did in the '60s, you just know that he won't be forgotten. What you might not be able to comprehend is exactly how much influential an artist will be in the future. But that can be disputed too, because those who followed Paradise Lost for example, knew that these guys were creating something new and special back then.

I could talk about jimi or jimmy you know who for hours but man listening to Mitch..I was always fascinated with his drumming...Guitar album? Absolutely, but this has always been one of my favorite drum albums go figure.

So... Which tracklist is superior: North American or international?

I like the combined version that has all of the songs from both.

Definitely North American for me. International edition is missing Purple Haze and Hey Joe, two of the best songs of the album. Combined version has Stone Free which I love.

I hate older albums because then I have to decide which version I want to rate, and I have to be like

"I'll rate the American original version which only has 11 of the 17 songs"

"Third stone" takes me to another planet. Probably the best psychedelic-trippin' song i've heard from the 60's.
