That sucks, man. He only neg's when I give the album a rating underneath a 3.5, so I'll assume that he's a fanboy (whenever the rating is 3.5 or higher, I get a ghost pos!). Jethro Tull has some really stupid/immature fanboys

Lols. Some youtube user named himself "underwraps2" WHY? Why not Aqualung2 or HeavyHorses2? At least those albums didn't suck.

how can you write a review of an album after listening to it only once, like it seems like you've done with this one and Rock Island? don't get me wrong, these are two of Tull's worst albums but it seems like reviews should be written by someone who knows the album quite well, if not very well.

It's true that I am not very well acquainted with this album or Rock Island, but neither of them were given only one listen. This one I heard about four times just prior to writing the review and one time in the distant past, while Rock Island I have listened to in full thrice, with some songs played many, many more times.

sumyunguy: believe me, when any user of this site reviews an album, he put in at least two listens. you need at least three to really decide on a rating, IMHO.
even when i'm not previously acquainted with an album or band (see: KISS), i follow this method; similarly, when I know an album inside and out (see: Ride The Lightning), I still put in at least two listens immediately before reviewing. i'm sure other reputable users do the same.

^this. I always give an album two or three listens (at the very least) just before reviewing, and I'll also listen to the album while writing. Only time I wrote a review after one listen was with Tomorrow Morning (it was really easy for me to settle on a rating for that one), and I gave the album about four more listens prior to submitting so that I would be sure that I agreed with everything that I said.

Sometimes the rating is abundantly clear from the first listen, but you still need a couple more to see if you've missed anything or if your opinion changes.

some of the songwriting on here isnt too bad, acoustic versions ive heard of some of the songs are quite enjoyable, it's just the synth sounds on here are really annoying and dont fit at all

I like the two title tracks and Tundra, but that's about it.

Its that bad eh

Kinda dig the 80s vibe, but the synth-pop sound feels forced in some songs. Vettese seems more concentrated on how many sound effects and notes can he play with his hi-tech synths and Anderson's flute sometimes sounds out of place.
Not as bad as many say imo. The last three tracks really blow, though.
