agreed, except the conventional take on hardcore that Comeback Kid play has worn thin. the cool cats have moved on to the likes of Ceremony, Verse, Modern Life Is War, Defeater, etc...

You're just naming my favourite hardcore bands and saying they're stumbling, which is disturbing to me.

you're missing my point. i'm naming bands that lead a particular scene, though that scene is hardly relevant any more. case in point the mentioning of Converge and DEP earlier. I'm not saying they suck, far from the fact, but it doesn't detract from the fact that their contemporaries are destroying their foundation.

Well I disagree, but I'm English so not really involved with any scene in a tangible sense. For me bands like Converge are still entirely relevant, and although they're very different stylistically from Bane, Champion and newer bands like Verse etc, they are all just hardcore bands with something worthwhile to contribute to the genre.
edit: and CK are just an entry level band who've are accessible to the kids.
