Haven't heard the S/t yet but that is how I'd rank the others. Rain Dances is a solid piece of work as well

Camel succeeds with their follow up entitled Mirage. The album has catchy structured tunes that make it flow incredibly well.

Freefall is a damn good way to start off the album. Finally a fast paced and ferocious prog track. Andrew Latimer just kills it on the guitar The last 20 seconds of the song are so good.

Peter Bardens does a wonderful job on this album and of course his songwriting contributions cannot be ignored. His playing of the mellotron and organ are wonderful. Of course his solos cannot be ignored.

It should be noted that Supertwister is the first introduction of flute into the Camel catalog. The melodies on this song are very good.

The guitar rules hard on this album. Complex rhythms, beautiful melodies, and excellent leads throughout.

The rhythm section is solid on the album. The bass lines and fast drumming put a band like Pink Floyd to shame. It's very refreshing to hear the rhythm section shine like they do on this album. Listen to Earthrise and you will know what I mean. Andy Ward really makes great use of his kit on the entire album.

One thing Camel is very good at is closing out their albums. Lady Fantasy is an epic 12 minute track and a Camel classic. The song goes through different moods, with awesome organs, bass lines, and crashing drums. All the musicians get to shine on this track. Andrew Latimer opens and closes the song with beautiful leads.

The flaw of this album are the lyrics, which have never been the strong point of the band. The lyrics of Nimrodel are just plain cheesy. It's no surprise they took the instrumental approach.

When he arrives, our fears subside, as darkness turns once more to light

If this part of Nimrodel/... could go on forever I would be so happy
