This album is the definition of progressive rock. It started it all and it stands the test of time.

21st Century Schizoid Man is a beast of track that can be seen as a big influence for future heavy genres of music. Everything about this track is perfect... From the godly drumming, to the driving bass, Fripp's shredding, and the superb vocals.

Greg Lake delivers a more emotional and heartfelt vocal delivery on the next two tracks. Here he really brings the lyrics of Peter Sinfield to life. Epitaph is a stellar, haunting track with great acoustic and woodwind. The drums still pound on this track but mesh perfectly with the music.

Only one thing detracts from this great work and that is the track Moonchild. The song starts off decent enough, but then wanders off into obscurity. It's worth one listen and then never again. You will soon get tired of this 10 minute pretentious impromptu jam session.

The Court of the Crimson King is an excellent way to close out the album. The mellotron shines and the atmosphere is just incredible. The mesmerizing vocals and killer drums can not be forgotten! The song builds up and has a great climatic ending.

This album is worth it just for the beautiful and breathtaking Epitaph.

Amazing album, but I honestly feel like Moonchild is way too dull for this to be a 5 (or have a 4.6 avg)

Yeah that's the only thing really wrong with this album, and it's what kept me from 5'ing it at first

Even though Red has the same problem with Providence, I think it's still way better than Moonchild

KILL, I've always been curious, how is it that someone that has so many years in the site and colaborates A LOT on it, hasn't become staff or something yet?
