Thanks. I think their new one is a bit more consistent than this.

Yeah I wanted to check the new one first but I can't find the songs on youtube.

Is there a stream up for this?

No. I don't think it is. The album's available in Europe. It has its premiere next week in the US.

This album slams. Magus pay homage to the early Heavy Metal bands with their own style.

I bought this album and Iron Will back when they first came out. This band has a lot of elements I like but for some reason they don't click with me. Old School Metal - check... Viking/Norse themes - check... JB on vocals, who I first heard on the early Spiritual Beggars albums - check... reminiscent of early Manowar - check...

So why don't I rate these albums higher? They just left me flat. They're not BAD; they're just not GREAT. The arrangements are very basic - riff/verse/chorus/solo, etc. This style of music is only going to go so far with me with basic arrangements. What I'm missing is the EPIC arrangements found in some early Manowar songs like Battle Hymn or Gates of Valhalla - songs that stretch out with quiet passages contrasting with dramatic crescendoes.
