one of the best reviews i read in a long time.
Album is incredibly messy and I love it. Though quite surprised pitchfork trashed the album.

echoing lewis' earlier sentiment that the review makes me want to like it more than i do
but i just cant. too hard to give a shit about 8 or 9 of these songs

Streetlight: well, I think it's because she hits both extremes depending on the track. It's like some tracks are supposed to compensate for others, or she wanted to make a really messy album but pressures forced her to make a few radio-friendly tunes.
GNG she's usually in key when she's singing or at least vocoded in key. The rest of the time she's rapping which isn't strictly tonal. What are you referring to?

This is a guilty pleasure, but I agree that about half of these songs are forgettable.
Space is great.

Not liking this album. Boring, repetitive and uninspired. maybe one or two good songs but the rest is shite.

i like this chick's overall energy/vibe, but i wasn't feeling this album at all. it's interesting enough to listen all the way through like once, but i can't even call it a grower because the beats are so unorthodox and the vocals are repetitive as shit.
def a good review though. the only reason i gave this record a listen, actually

i'm surprised to see people calling this repetitive and boring..if anything it sounds more interesting to me than Arular or Kala, what with the noisy clattering production. it's evidently more divisive than either of those albums, which is always interesting to observe.
