Can this be the default review from now on? It's well written and the fact that it's a 5 just makes it nicer to look at than the current 4/5 =)

I love how with Chevelle, you can't just listen to the song to have any understanding of the lyrics. You have to look at the lyrics and examine them for a while before getting a full grasp. Once you do, you understand each line is brilliant and perfect for the song

breach birth is still one of my favourite songs.

I think this, Vena Sera, and Sci-Fi may have been their collective peak as a band..though, if they decide to mix things up more on their next album, who knows?

This is a pretty bad album, and that's coming from a Chevelle fan.

I think it's pretty sweet, Emotional Drought and Breach Birth are great tunes.

I admit, this is kind of a guilty pleasure for me. I really should like this album, I love Wonder
What's Next, Sci-Fi Crimes, and Hats Off to the Bull, but this really just seems like the most
shameless and blatant carbon copy ripoff of A Perfect Circle that I've ever heard. I can't ignore that
aspect of it, it's far too apparent to me.

i see how it can be possible, but there's no way. a year after thirteen step and they continue to play how they were but more up front there's no way.

Funny you should mention APC, I only checked them out a couple days ago (the Thirteenth Step album) and I loved it but never made that connection - I see where you're coming from though.
That said I still think this is great. But I never dug Wonder What's Next, no matter how hard I tried. Odd, I guess.
Also, the comparison in this review between 'Bend the Bracket' and 'For Emma; Forever Ago'....Really?

@Relinquished When I make that comparison, I'm mainly just comparing Pete's vocal performance to Maynard James Keenan's. And Tool was around long before A Perfect Circle, so yeah, there IS a LOT of ways lol. There are so many moments on this where he sounds nearly identical to Maynard. Like, back when I would hear The Clincher on the radio and I didn't know it was Chevelle, I seriously thought it was a new A Perfect Circle track, only because he sounded just like Keenan, and that it was too alt rock to be Tool.

old argument aside, there's distinction but i guess that's discernible by only tr00 fans
and that's coming from a Chevelle fan.
